What I do with mine, is I file them instead of cutting them. I don't remember the exact reason on why this works, as it has been years since I remember learning it, but I know that it does. Something else you can do is to paint a single clear coat on just to give your nail more support. Or when you know that you are going to be doing something that puts your nails in danger, make sure you paint them with a coat or two of your favorite polish, and top with another 2 coats of clear.
