My nails are dry and brittle?

Any reason why this might be happening?

%26amp; is there anything i can do to fix this?My nails are dry and brittle?
The reason it happens could be many. It could do with your hormone levels, your water intake, how often you wash your hands and use of cleaners and detergents all dry out nails.

There are a few things you can do.

One:MOISTURIZE. After you wash your hands, put on some nice hand lotion.

Two:OLIVE OIL. It might sound weird, but it helps. Soak your nails in it for 15-30 minutes. Aim for at least once a week.

Three:OVERNIGHT TREATMENT. Slather your hands in petroleum jelly and wear cotton gloves to bed. My dermatologist told me to do this, and it made my hands so soft, and it really helped with the dryness.

Also drink lots of water, divide your weight by half and that's the number of ounces you should be drinking everyday. And beware of nail polish remover, acetone makes nails very dry. Be sure to get some that doesn't contain any.

Hope this helps. :DMy nails are dry and brittle?
Dehydration, PMS, sooo many things... plsu this may just be how your nails are... genetics..dammit...! HAHA

Mine are the same way:

Natiltique Formula 2 (buy at local drug stores in the nail care section) its a protein, it dries in less than ten seconds and it just really helps your nails grow stronger... I throw on another layer every 3-4 days...! its great
