Supplements! Try Natures Way hair, skin %26amp; nails formula (herbal) or Futurebiotics Hair skin %26amp; nails (multi-vitamin).
Give yourself a little manicure. Whether you're male or female, anyone can use a soft touch on their hands.

Scrub your nails with an old dead tooth brush.

Pour some brown sugar and olive oil into a bowl and bring it into the bathroom. If you have any essential oils like lavendar or lemon-verbena, this is a good time to add that.

Gently rub the mixture into your cuticles and skin, up your forearms and elbows. Then rinse. Blot your arms gently with a warm towel and prepare to cut your fingernails.

Cut your nails into a clean roundish square shape, known more widely as ';the Squoval';. File your nails gentle going from the outside in in one direction for each side of the finger nail. Your nails can actually get more brittle if you go *back and forth with any kind of nail file*. Good manicurists don't go back and forth with their emery boards.

Paint a thin coat of clear polish onto your nails. Use a polish that has some teflon in it like that from Sally Hansen, or a good strengthener from O.P.I (*my favorite*!).

The key to strengthening your nails is to seal them with a varnish. Think of sealing the wood on your deck; in order for it to endure heavy rains (washing dishes), extreme summers (daily punishment of the hands), it needs a wood sealant. Moisture is drawn out of the nail the same way it is drawn out of fresh wood.
Try to eat more calcium-rich foods or take a multi-vitamin.
use sally hansen's nail stuff
soak them in olive oil, it works!
