How do I prevent my real nails from getting very thin and brittle when I wear false nails occasionally?

I only put on drug-store nails when my boyfriend comes home for 3 days once every two weeks (he's a trucker), yet my real nails are an absolute mess after I pop the false nails off. if you only wear it once for a little time... you should use nail's oil before you add anything else.. it would not last long... avoid putting your nails in water too much..because it might wash away the oil.. but after you remove your false nail.. it should look as the way you started to out on false ones..
